TelegramBot is assigned to the Preview category by BotScope. Detection is based on the user-agent string. Current pattern:

Link preview bots are triggered when a human shares your link in a messaging app or platform. They fetch Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags to render the preview. The IP belongs to a real user — BotScope therefore hashes it via SHA-256.
BotScope maps TelegramBot requests onto your session timeline — you spot bursts, can filter them per path, and compare against other bots in the same category.

If you don't want TelegramBot to crawl your site, add the following block to your /robots.txt. This works only for bots that honour robots.txt — malicious crawlers ignore it.
