Google Officials
Google Officials are requests from the official Google network that don't carry a unique bot identifier in the user-agent — neither Googlebot, Googlebot-Image, AdsBot nor any other published crawler name.
BotScope detects them via IP range membership in Google's official published IP ranges (regularly updated JSON lists from Google itself). When a request comes from these ranges but the UA contains no known bot name, we classify it as Google Officials — Google-verified, service-not-verified.
Possible sources:
- Internal Google tools whose crawler identity is not publicly documented
- Experimental crawlers in pre-release phases
- Server-to-server calls from Google Cloud Functions / Cloud Run that route Google services internally to your site
The classification is a trusted signal source — the request demonstrably originates from Google infrastructure, even if the exact bot type isn't resolved further.
